Our New Collection is coming.....

Our New Collection is coming.....

When I sat down towards the end of last year, and started thinking about the next Sólsse Collection for a 2026/27 release, I didn't really have a specific design style or direction locked in. It was more about knowing the feeling I wanted the collection to have, and the way way I wanted it to make people feel. I wanted it to feel fresh, exciting, and colourful, and I wanted it to feel like you were bringing home a piece of art. Something that tells a story, and then quietly becomes part of your own.

What I initially expected to create was very different to what this collection evolved into. At first, I thought it would be a natural continuation of what I'd done before, and I flirted with a new take on our plaids, stripes, and feminine florals. But instead, these ideas pivoted, as I realised that repeating a new version of what I'd already done, wasn't going to bring me the same sense of excitement. SoI stepped outside my comfort zone, swapping plaids for bold block colour, soft florals for more punchy, considered  patterns, and let more organic, illustrative motifs take the lead.

And somewhere in the middle of it all, an unintentional shift happened, and a subtle theme started to emerge. I found myself being drawn to different references, warmer tones, terracottas, tiled details, structured shapes, and things that felt a little more refined, while still feeling relaxed. So pulling on inspiration from our tropical location and lifestyle, and blending it together with my personal love of Mediterranean design and architecture, this collection slowly became a mix of the two, in what I like to call a 'tropical-euro summer fusion'. These new pieces are full of colour, personality, and somehow bring a sense of both energy and calm at the same time.

And if you're new here, I'll give you a little run down on what came before. For the first 3 years, everything I created for Sólsse was very grounded in tropical living. It was heavily inspired by local landmarks, beaches, and places that felt familiar and close to home. And while you'll continue to see those tropical elements woven through, this collection introduces a definite European influence, resulting in an eclectic, layered, and very 'Sólsse' collection of rugs.

There's been a lot that's gone into bringing this collection to life. It's the largest single collection we have released since we launched Sólsse The Label back in 2023. There have been lots of late nights spent researching, more samples made than I'd like to admit, refining artwork so it translated properly onto the final product, and working on more collaborations that felt meaningful and aligned.

Some of these pieces feel calm and grounded, while others are more expressive, a little bolder, and a bit more playful. Having that mix was important to me, because I wanted this collection to feel flexible, balanced, and to easily move between different moods, spaces, and ways of living, all while feeling connected as a whole.

This collection has demanded patience, self-trust, and stepping outside my comfort zone, and I couldn't be happier with where it's landed. It's the kind of collection where every piece feels like it transports you somewhere, but it still feels like they're right at home at the same time.  Each rug is designed to be used, whether it be the beach, at home, out in the sun, or around the table. Wherever it ends up, you know it can be thrown down, packed up, and lived with for years to come.

These mood boards (below) were created to guide the direction for each rug design. They give a small glimpse into what's to come in terms of colours, textures, and the feeling behind each piece individually, as well as the collection as a whole. These designs will be rolled out in a staggered release over the weeks and months ahead, and I honestly can't wait to release them into the world.

We have two incredible artist collaborations coming too. One being released later this year, and another in early 2027. But for now, those are both staying under wraps.
